Letter 2 my momma

 Lots has happened the last couple of weeks but I am still on the great ohio state university! School starts here in a little so that will be nice to get some more homies on campus!

My friend Babak finally got baptised lol sooo wild with him because he was someone we worked with for like 4 months, and he always said he didn't want to join any specific religion and just wanted to believe in Jesus christ. But when he really understood what Jesus Christ taught and the doctrine behind going to church and why there is a need for Church, that's what helped him make the decision!

That's something I've been thinkint about, one of my favorite quotes is "True doctrine understood, changes attitude and behavior"- president Packer. Anytime someone isn't keeping the commandments or commitments it's because they don't understand the doctrine or the why we do them. Understanding doesn't just mean mentally but also understanding with heart. Mosiah 12:27 "Ye have not applied your hearts to understanding;" True understanding comes from the spirit. Whenever we are struggling with a commandment or standard we just need to understand the doctrine behind it and then our actions will follow. Teaching the gospel is so crazy because you find people that are so low and about to give up in life, completely change, and find that true happiness. That's what the doctrine of Christ can do! Everyone go listen to a byu devo called, "The answer is always the doctrine" by Elder Bednar.
